Using Somatic Interventions to Address the Ethical Challenges of the Decolonization of Clinical Practice (3 CEs)

This event offers 3 CEs for PA professionals holding LSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT licenses and fulfills the mandate for 3 CEs in Ethics. This event is also approved for 3 CEs for PA Licensed Psychologists.

Challenging historic, and at times alienating, practices of clinical interventions can cause anxiety, dysregulation, and fear in clinicians doing their best to create more equitable and inclusive practice.  This event seeks to offer ethical confirmation and reinforcement for these efforts while offering some somatic support and safety planning for clinicians as they take on this important work. 

By the end of this training participants will be able to: 

1. Identify common experiences of anxiety, dysregulation, and fear that clients working to decolonize their work may experience.  

2. Recite how the Code of Ethics can empower their resolve and connection to the importance of the work of decolonizing clinical practice. 

3. Relay how somatic interventions can also support clinicians who are striving toward decolonizing their clinical practice.
