Recognizing and Mitigating Fiscal Abuse and Safeguarding Vulnerable Clients (2 CEs)

This event offers 2 CEs for PA professionals holding LSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT licenses. This event is also approved for 2 CEs for PA Licensed Psychologists.

Financial Abuse is a little discussed or trained clinical problem that is more common than we realize. Fiscal control, exploitation, and psychological abuses characterize this hard-to-identify social phenomenon. This training will offer providers insights into how to identify and intervene in Financial Abuse. In addition, information related to reporting and institutional safeguards will also be shared. 

By the end of this training participants will be able to: 

1. Recite the common signs that a person is being abused fiscally.    

2. Relay the common interventions and safeguards that exist for intervening, reporting, and protecting financially vulnerable people.  

3. Explain their thoughts and ideas for integrating strategies and safeguards into their personal practice and settings.
