Children and Grief: An Exploration of Developmental Impact on Grief and Interventions for Youth (2 CEs)

This event offers 2 CEs for PA professionals holding LSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT licenses. This event is also approved for 2 CEs for PA Licensed Psychologists.

Despite having traversed childhood ourselves, adults are often perplexed and unfamiliar with the ways in which youth understand and experience loss. The grief process for children and adolescents can vary greatly from how adults navigate loss. This event will offer examples and considerations for practitioners who are working with youth or families affected by loss and strategies for engaging and supporting them.    

By the end of this training participants will be able to: 

1. Relay at least 3 common experiences for children and youth experiencing loss.     

2. Identify the common barriers keeping adults from best supporting grieving children.    

3. Recite at least 5 strategies or interventions that can effectively support grieving youth.
